WHAT'S NEW IN 2008
BUOY LOTTERY FORM INSTRUCTIONS

IN ORDER TO PARTICIPATE IN THE LOTTERY PLEASE RETURN YOUR
APPLICATION PACKET ON OR BEFORE FEBRUARY 29, 2008.

LOTTERY DRAWING IS MARCH 14, 2008.

What's New in 2008

  • Rate per session is now $425.00. The weekly rate is now $135.00. The fee for kayak/canoe rack storage is now $100.00 per space.

  • Boats and watercraft that cannot be accommodated in our kayak/canoe storage racks may not be stored or left on the beach. Only watercraft that fits in the racks may apply for a rack space. Applications for kayaks and canoes are included with this mailing. NO catamarans (i.e. Hobie Cats, Nacras) or jet skis are allowed on the buoys.

  • Beginning & ending session dates have a required time to put your boat on or off your buoy.
    • First Session: You may go on your buoy on 5/19/08. You must be off your buoy by 12 Noon on 7/27/08.
    • Second Session: You may go on your buoy at 12 Noon on 7/28/08 and you must be off your buoy on 10/01/08.

  • Weekly requests are from Monday - Sunday. See Buoy Lottery Form for exact dates.

  • Only members in good standing of the Association may apply for a buoy in the lottery or request for kayak/canoe storage spaces. Your Dollar Point Association dues must be paid by Feb 15, 2008. Failure to pay your dues will result in automatic rejection of your application.

  • Only one member from each DPA lot may apply for the lottery. The only boat allowed on your assigned buoy is the one entered into the lottery.

  • No refunds (except in emergency situations), and will require approval from your DPA Board of Directors.

  • Lottery drawing is 3/14/08. Members will be advised if they were selected for a buoy one month or sooner after the drawing. There will be no additional buoys available to rent after this date. However, the Association will maintain a waiting list for buoys based on the lottery drawing to allocate any buoy that becomes available for periods of one week or longer because a member has relinquished his usage. There is normally no refund for relinquished usage and normally no charge for allocation of a relinquished buoy to a person on the waiting list.

  • Members whose boats are not removed from the buoys by the designated time and date will automatically be excluded from the 2009 lottery, and may be subject to towing and storage fees. (No Exceptions)

  • The Pier Attendant/motorized pier boat cannot move member’s boats. The Pier Attendant/motorized pier boat is available to shuttle members & guests to and from their boats. Only members who have paid for a buoy rental and currently have a boat on a buoy may use this service.

  • The Pier Attendant will be available morning to evening, approximately from June 17th through Labor Day (Sept.1st).

  • Limited Daytime weekend only service may be available from May 26th - June16th, and Sept. 2nd - Oct.1st. This Service is not guaranteed and is dependent on labor availability. Please check for posted operating hours.

Buoy Lottery Form Instructions

Dollar Point Association has 514 members and 63 buoys. Therefore, we hold a lottery. The lottery drawings will be held on March 14, 2008. There will be two drawings. Drawing "A" is for your Primary choice and Drawing "B" is for your Secondary choice. The summer is divided into two sessions:

  • The first session is 5/19/08 - 12 Noon on 7/27/08.
  • The second session is 12 Noon on 7/28/08 - 10/1/08.

Each member submits a Buoy Lottery Form where they may choose: ONLY ONE session in Drawing "A", and ONLY ONE session in Drawing "B".

Historically all members have received their Primary choice, but this is not guaranteed as it depends on the number of applicants. Therefore, be sure that your Primary choice is in Drawing “A”.
