Defensible Space

North Tahoe Fire completed initial curbside defensible space inspections on all homes within Dollar Point Fall of 2017/Winter of 2018.

If any homeowners want additional information/education on defensible space requirements and what work needs to be done to reach defensible space law compliance, submit a defensible space request on their website and the Defensible Space Rep will meet at the property with the homeowner.

To submit a Defensible Space Request, homeowners can go to: go to the “Prevention” tab, select  “Defensible Space/Chipping” from the drop down menu, click on the “Sign Up Here” tab and fill out the form. This is also the same form that homeowners can use to sign up for our free chipping service.

North Tahoe Fire is planning to return to the Dollar Point neighborhood sometime Fall of 2018 to perform curbside defensible space re-inspections on all properties that had violations of the defensible space requirements. Everyone should have received the LE100(notice of defensible space inspection) form from the initial inspections with a goal of becoming Ready For Wildfire & a Fire Adapted Community.
